December Daily update.

An in-between page...
A 'Midsummer Night's Dream' was Asher's end of year drama club production and wanted to include it in my Dec Daily. I have tried to recreate the stage background of sorts on the intro page. We had flower vines hanging down the back of the stage so that it looked like a forest.

I played around with Deb's background idea on one of her previous pages and included the words of my favorite line of Asher's in the show.

And a small photo of her up on stage.
I have these two pages in my album back to back and have created a pocket for a copy of the program and my tickets.

Day 7

Day 8

Day 9
Is in two parts. My day and Asher's day.
Here is my day out of the album and in the album as I did some embellishing on the insert.
Out of the album

In the album

Asher's day
Out

In

Here is how I altered my insert.

After trimming down an insert sheet to get a small one I was left with two joined inserts. One pocket with no sealed edge and no place for the holes to add into my album.

I cut two strips of paper: the first 2 inches wide and the other 1 inch wide to the length I needed and scored them in half.

I used the 1 inch strip to seal up the cut edge and the other one as my spine piece.

Day 10
A rough day where I was on the verge of tears. I didn't get to take a photo used a photo from facebook that several of my fellow Autism group friends had posted in memory of a little boy taken too early. This page is probably the one and only one that I will stray away from my colour theme.

Day 11
Lots of paint to create a background for my banner.

December daily day 1

 Day 1 with it's number 1 tag.
Day one is always about putting up our Xmas trees. Mine in the living room and Asher's in her room
The crochet white doily at the bottom of the tree acts as the perfect Christmas tree skirt. The background is Ranger Dauber paint and a Purple Onion holly spray stamp.

The 'hoot hoot hoot' title is a play on words as my tree has an owl theme. I started my owl tree the first Christmas away from Craig and I always buy my owls in two's. One for me and one for Asher. The only single owls are two that have been given to me by a close friend and they are  the king and queen of the owl tree and always go at the top. My friend gave me and new decoration during the week, one that she couldn't resist getting. A cute dog in a Christmas jumper. I will share a photo of him later on in the month but he is hanging on the tree and is the official owl protector.

Make sure you pop on over to the Let's December Daily blog to check out how I created the number tags that I will be using through my album and what the other girls are doing as well.

Some scrapping to share.

and not just for Let's get shabby. lol

Challenge 58 is up and when Mandy came up with the idea for this challenge I knew straight away what I was going to do.

Wood fire glow.

Another page for my Cradle mountain mini album. I snapped this photo inside the lodge one night before dinner.

And I challenge page which I am just scrapping in before the deadline.

Cow town antics.

The photo was taken last year when Jane Margaret and myself went down to Busselton for our may get away. About 20 mins away was a small town Cowernup (Sorry not sure if I have spelt that right.) They have cow statues all over town.

Created for White with 1.

Oribella is one of my fellow Let's get shabby girls. She has been a member of the Shabby team for some time now. She has a gorgeous style and creates some beautiful cards.

by my very talented scrappy friend and fellow Shabby girl Mandy

My Photo

to take part in a creative blog tour.

As part of the tour there is a set of questions for us to Answer so here are mine.

What am I working on?
I have been in a bit of a scrappy rut for a little while now but with some help for my personal challenge guru, AKA Mandy, I am slowly getting back into the swing of scrapping again.
I have got a mini album in the works of our holiday up in the cradle mountains with Mandy and her girls last year that I am slowly finishing off.

How does my work differ from others of its genre?
Over the years that I have been scrapping I have tried out most techniques and styles that have come round but have found that I will come back to the shabby layered look I have grown to love.

Why do I write/create what I do?
It is my release, my escape and my me time.

How does your writing/creating process work?
I am what my good friend Jane loving calls a fiddler. lol I enjoy starting off with my photo or card base and then just shopping my stash for goodies to go with it. I could sit with a few things laid out and play with them for hours, changing my mind out about most things several times before anything is stuck down.

I hope that you have enjoyed my part of the blog tour.

And now for my Tagee. Just one as I have yet to here back from the other as to if she would like to play along or not yet.

Ludka (Poland)

Ludka is one of my fellow Let's get shabby girls. She has been a member of the Shabby team for a few months now and before that a frequent challenge player. She has a gorgeous layered style and creates some beautiful cards.

Thank you Ludka for joining me on this creative blog tour.

It's another.

you guessed it Let's get shabby share. lol Looks as if that is all I am scrapping these days but I am slowly finding my way back into doing more of what I love. I have got some other stuff to share but I am going to wait a few days for that. Saving them for something fun.

The challenge this month over at Let's get shabby is a great one. To be inspired by a favorite book. I must admit that this one isn't a favorite as I don't really have one but I am forever hoping that one day I may just be able to do up a place of my own so I wanted to use a home decorating book and just fell in love with the cover of this one I found on Amazon books.

And it just so happens that in my big collection of stamps from when I was on the team over at Purple Onion  Stamps I had the perfect one to use as a staring point.

Hello sweet friend.

I was inspired by the chair, the pink tones and the curved title. I must admit that it did take a while for me to put together and I ended up having my friend Jane laughing at me as I tried to create it but I got there in the end.

As always thanks for popping in, any comments and happy creating.

Let's get shabby share

The latest challenge has gone up over at Let's get shabby. For my sample this month I created a page for my Tassie holiday mini album. I can't believe that it has been a year already since Asher and I got on a plane and went over for our snowy adventure.

Snow fun.

One big adventure.

I created a peek a boo page. Here it is in the album.

Snow fun in.

One big adventure in.

I am in a major scrappy rut out here and need something to give it a kick so if you have come across any good challenges that may just do the trick please let me know.

As always thanks for popping in, any comments and happy creating.

Let's get shabby share

The new challenge over at Let's get shabby is up and I had fun playing with my sample for this month. When Mandy suggested the "Double" criteria I knew just what it was that I was going to do.

Double the laughs double the fun.

The photos are of Asher and her bestie taken at her birthday lunch last year. A double layout one for us and one for her friend.

Make sure you pop on over and see what the other shabby girls have done and say goodbye to one of the girls who has been with us for a while now and welcome a new member.
______________________________________________

There has been no other scrapping done out here lately. I just seem to have lost my drive to do it. I also have a dilemma. I already have 17 albums just for our family layouts and I have got a big stack of layouts that have got to go into albums once I buy some, I'm guessing at another 8 albums maybe. At this rate I will be surrounded in albums that rarely get looked at. Just how many is too many!!!!!!!!!!!!

_______________________________________________________________

I spent a few days in Adelaide with my besties this month. We flew out Thurs day lunch time and home Monday night. It was 4 days filled with lots of laughing, sightseeing and eating. A much needed break for all of us. Here are a few of the many photos that I took. (Sorry Jane lol)

My sister in law Margaret on the left and Jane on the right. Along with our furry friends who went everywhere with us. Socks, Gemma and Ben.

Jane loves the pandas but me I love otters and was glad I was there at the right time to get this photo at feeding time.

On our walk back from the zoo we went through the botanic gardens and I jut had to play in all the leaves.

It was also my birthday during the week and my girl and I had fun snapping a few photos together out back before going out shopping for my present and a yummy dinner out.

As always thanks for playing popping in, any comments and happy creating.

Sunday scrappy share.

Don't die of shock girls but it is Sunday and I have a scrappy share for you. lol

The new Let's get shabby challenge was revealed during the week. Here is my sample.

Find your inner artist.

On our last day in Tassie almost a year ago Asher and I went for a walk down to the beach and past a love heart stepped out in the sand. Asher had fun adding her touches to it. She wrote in the center of the heart we (heart) Tas.

This months challenge is to work with maps and knowing that I anted to use one of our Tassie photos I found a printable vintage Tassie map online and used that as my base. After giving it a heavy handed spray with some distress ink not much of the map detail could be seen so I had to add in the tag.

______________________________________________________

My other shares are a layout and a card. The photos aren't that great as I had to take them on my phone.

Happy book worm.

I created this for the in store Dusty attic sketch challenge. I'm not usually a big chipboard lover so using it was a challenge and I like how it turned out.

Happy birthday cards.

Two nephews have birthdays soon so I needed to make male birthday cards which I usually struggle with. Not this time though. These came together no trouble at all.
