A quick pop in

to say a big thanks to all the girls and Danny that I meet over the weekend. I have had the bestest time out here in QLD. Yes I am still here, I have borrowed Mandy's lappie for a while, going to grab something to eat with her and her family before heading back to the room to crash. I so need a big sleep and then I am meeting up with Missy Jane Jones for lunch tomorrow before heading back home.

I had the bestest roomie while out here. Thanks Sandra and finally meeting Mandy, my shabby partner in crime, after so many years of on line chatting was the highlight of my trip. We just clicked in so many ways and I am glad to call her my friend.

I'll be back soon with some photos.

The Lets get shabby new challenge

is up

CHALLENGE#12
.
.
Create a shabby project with an emphasis on

PAINT, CHIPBOARD and LACE

You can include other scrappy goodies on your project
but paint, chipboard and lace should be the main components.
.
Please check the sidebar for the faqs and rules and have fun with the new criteria!!

Here is what I created.

Dance.

The photo was taken at one of Missy's first dance classes nearly five years ago. The canvas has been claimed by Missy too. It is now sitting on her dressing table.

Here are some detail photos.

The paint is there but I ended up covering most of it with lace. You can see areas of it where it meets the paper with the distress stamping over it

Pop on over and check out what the other Shabby girls have done. I hope that you get to play along with us this month.

Till next time, which will be after I get back home from my retreat, thanks for popping in, any comments and happy scrapping.

The count day is on

and it is only a few days now till I am on a plane to Cairns. My scrappy stuff is packed and some of my clothes as well.

It has been a quiet week out here all expect for Friday that is, my birthday.

Craig and Asher got me a small camera that I can pop into my bag so I don't have to take my big one away with me. I got some money from my in laws, scrappy goodies and a cookbook from friends and my parents parted with some of their quantas frequent flyer points a while back for my flight to QLD as my pressie.

My friend Jane and I head out to the craft fair on the train. It was mainly quilting and beading stalls but I did manage to pick up some stamps, a few copics and an embossing folder.

Then that night I went of to a local for a crop. When the girls at Just scrapbooking found out it was my birthday on the night of one of their Friday crops they made sure I was there. Not that I needed to be pushed very much. Getting some of Carols pineapple cheesecake was enough to get me there.

I managed to do up a card and a tag on the night, although it was tough with all the laughs. I nearly had coffee splatters over my work several times.

You make me smile card

I have done this one up for a Copic card challenge being run by Copic Australia. You can check out all the details here.

We needed to use the first three colours on our project.

Flower-BV02
Dress-Y06
Shoes, dress trim and cheeks-E02
Hair-E33,E35,E37
Skin-E00

I also played around with making a tag to wear at the retreat next weekend.

Although ti hasn't stayed that way. It has been added too some more since I took this photo but I will share that once the retreat is over as I don't want the girls to see the finished project yet.

The gallery went up over at Lime Tarts durring the week too. Here is a favorite project of mine.

I scrapnapped my friend Lou's cheeky little girl Lucy.

Well that is all from me for now.
Till next time, which we be on the Tuesday when I get back home thanks for popping back in, any comments and happy scrapping.

Aussie Scrapjack

The latest Jacks are up. Pop on over and see who they are and how the team jacked them.
Here is my layout. A jack of a album cover by Leeanne Allison.

U

I got a nice email the other day from Scrapbook Creations. They want to publish my New toys layout I did for last months jack sample.

I have been creating but alas not much I can share.

I completed my sample for the next Shabby challenge. I love what I have created and so dose Missy as it is now in her room on her dresser.

I have also worked on my May kit samples from Lime Tart. When I was at Just scrapbooking a few Friday ago I asked Lou if she had any picks of her children I could scrap and she handed me three bags of photos to have a look at. I claimed some that I knew would match the papers and when I went down to teach today, gave them to her, She loved them.
I'll share all these when I can.

This is the layout I taught today.

Bush Trek.

Well that is all from me for now.
As always thanks for popping in, any comments and happy scrapping.

I'm back

with some mothers day photos to share.

Before Missy and I went out for our drive we went outside to try and take some photos. I had the camera all set up on the tripod and was hoping to get some pics of us together using the remote but I had issues getting it to work.

Here is my favorite from before we went out.

We ended up in Fremantle by the river for out mystery drive. I sort of knew where I wanted to end up so only gave Missy the option of choosing which way to go when I knew we would end up in that general direction whatever way we went.

Here is a snap of her playing on the playground.

It was really windy out there and the few pics I tried to get of the two of us together didn't look that great so when we got home we raced out back for some more pics taken on the trampoline.

While we were on the tramp my other daughter, Reenie as Missy calls her jumped up and we managed a few pics with her as well.

Not long after we got in DH came home from fishing and he did a maccas run and there is apple crumble in the oven for sweets.

I didn't end up with all that many great pics to scrap but I have a few to keep me going for a while.

So that is another Mothers day nearly over and Missy and I have decided that we are going to make it a mothers day ritual to go on a mystery drive, with or with out DH.

It's mothers day

and I am having a nice veg out day here so far. Dh helped dd make me toast and coffee for breakfast and I got another charm for my bracelet. DD wants to go out on another mystery drive like we did last year so that is planned for a little later on as DH wants o go fishing.

I managed to pop out to Just scrapping and crop with Lou and the girls on Friday night and I had a blast. Here is what I did.

Robot girl.

I have had this photo printed for ages and could never get my head around it till Lou talked me out of doing my usual earthy shabby style and try something different. I can't say I love it but it is now done. The photo is of Missy dressed in a robot costume for her dancing concert last year.

Just for you.

I had this image already coloured up and I added it to a card for my mum for mothers day.

Here are the Copic colours I used.

Flowers-BV02,B00,YG03
Mouse-E33,E35,E21

I did start this one up for a Copic colour challenge but missed the deadline, I was going to pop it into the House Mouse flower challenge but missed that as well. I have used a Card Positioning Systems sketch but I think I may have missed that deadline as well. lol I have had a forgetful few weeks with some of my challenge deadlines.

Well that is is from me for now. I am of to spend some time with Missy on this sunny mothers day.
As always thanks for popping in, any comment s and happy creating.

What does a girl do

on National Scrapbooking day.

Well scrap of course. lol

Here is what I did. A page for an upcoming Heritage class over at Just scrapbooking. Not until July though. I'm just a tad ahead of myself. lol

Family.

Photo is of my dad, his mum and sister.

And over at Mystical I was dared to do a layout using No distressing, No flowers and lots of doodling. This is what I came up with while scrapping on Tuesday with Lou and the girls.

Yard pets.

Just love this photo I snapped of Reenie the other week outside.

It has been a quiet week this week here at home but I gave my credit card a bit of a workout when I brought my self some new clothes on Friday. Now I need to sort out just how I am going to pack my stash for QLD in a few weeks time and I am all set.

As always thanks for popping in, any comments and happy creating.
